Its more fun in Wawa Dam

Are you looking for a place to visit this holy week season? Are you planning to have your weekend getaway with family and friends? Then I know a place that will surely satisfy your adventurous souls; a place that is not so far from the city but as peaceful and relaxing as the province.

Wawa Dam or Montalban Dam is located in Rodriguez, Rizal. It was constructed in 1909 to provide water for Metro Manila. It was later on abandoned after the construction of Angat Dam. And now, it is a popular travel destination especially when summer and holy week.

Now, you decided to visit the place. Your question is how to get there.

Here it is:
  1. From Cubao, ride a jeepney going to Montalban. (Fare: 27 pesos/ person. You can also ride FX or UV. (Fare: 30-40 pesos/ person)
  2. Get off the jeepney (or FX/UV) when you reach the terminal of tricycle in Brgy. San Rafael.
  3.  Ride a tricycle to go to the entrance of Sitio Wawa. (Fare: 10  pesos/ person)
  4. You need to pay 2 pesos/ person as environmental fee.
  5. From there you can walk straight ahead until you reach Wawa Dam.

There are bamboo cottages to rent for picnic for only 100 pesos; good to use for the whole day.

The peaceful scenery and the feeling of isolation of the place will surely relax you.

You can still enjoy how relaxing it is even you are alone.

The Emerald colored water is so refreshing while having a picnic with your family and friends.
